Foundation - aims and obs

Catherine Freeman, one of the most inspirational Australians of all time, has established the Catherine Freeman Foundation as a way of giving something back to the many Australians who supported and followed her on her journey to becoming Olympic 400m Champion at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Through wonderful opportunities, Catherine was able to fulfil her potential as an athlete. In recent times, Catherine has travelled extensively throughout Australia and has seen first hand that many communities and individuals lack the opportunity which would enable them to also reach their potential.

The Catherine Freeman Foundation Goals

To create opportunities for a good education
To identify ways to assist people in their quest towards achieving their goals
To create the environment for people to help themselves
To create an environment of aspiration, self belief and opportunity

The Catherine Freeman Foundation will work with agencies, charities, communities, schools and groups, to identify a series of projects that fit with these goals and help to bring about positive change.

We aim to raise funds through corporate and private donations and through high profile fundraising events to bring these projects to fruition.

How the Catherine Freeman Foundation works:

The Catherine Freeman Foundation Limited, as Trustee for Catherine Freeman Foundation (ABN 84 125 810 568) is a public fund listed on the Register of Harm Prevention Charities under subdivision 30-EA of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. The Foundation will raise funds and make grants to Eligible Charities for flagship projects. Excitingly, it will also establish new Eligible Charities to take these projects forward.
