Westpac Women’s Markets Group and CFF – Brisbane and Adelaide

On April 30th and May 1st the head of Westpac Women’s Markets Group, Larke Reimer held the first two of four WWMG Learn, Lead and Succeed business event series in Brisbane and Adelaide. This in one of the most anticipated events on the Australian businesswoman’s calendar

Guests have the opportunity to meet like-minded businesswomen in an environment geared to networking and improvement and the program includes practical workshops on strategic marketing, financial growth strategies and leadership development

As WWMG have nominated the Catherine Freeman Foundation as their charity of the year 2008, Carolyn Schuwalow, on behalf of the CFF travelled to Brisbane and Adelaide to present the CFF vision. All funds raised from the Learn, Lead and Succeed business events, including registration fees are donated to the CFF. The final two events for the autumn season will be held in Sydney and Melbourne on May 6th and May 8th.

The Catherine Freeman Foundation vision of education and opportunity for young indigenous girls resonates with the businesswomen attending the LLS events and was very warmly received and supported by the audience, with a number of women offering support.

WWMG have a target of $50,000 in 2008, which will fund 4 scholarships for indigenous girls; to commence 2009

I would like to congratulate the men of the Melbourne Fire Brigade running club for their fantastic efforts in raising awareness of the sacrifices of those who came before us.

Catherine (cathy) Astrid Salome Freeman was born on 16th February in Mackay, Queensland. Catherine is Greek for 'pure', Astrid, German for 'star' and Salome is Hebrew for 'Peace'.
