Niddrie Secondary College commit to raising funds for the CFF

On May 5, 2008. Catherine Freeman and CFF representative Carolyn Schuwalow presented the Catherine Freeman Foundation vision to Niddrie Secondary College at the morning school assembly. The day was significant as it launched the partnership between CFF and Niddrie Secondary College, who have committed to raising funds; goal of $6000-$12,000 to fund the highly successful CFF non truancy bike project.

The leadership group of 6 girls have taken up the challenge to motivate the students and to run a series of fund raising initiatives, including trivia nights, casual clothes days, sports days and raffles.

JCCM Australia has offered to be a resource to the leadership group, should they require advice about running events, marketing and communications and are pleased to mentor a group of such highly motivated girls whose goal is to leave a legacy in their final year of assisting less fortunate young students to have opportunities for education.

Catherine was particularly proud to meet all students from Niddrie Secondary College, saying ‘The generosity of spirit displayed by these students today has inspired me to work even harder to realise the educational outcomes of the foundation. I am proud they have chosen to be part of team CFF.”

The leadership group of Maddie Frost, Sheree Wood Davies, Tanya Intagliata and Amanda Papanicolauo, Amber Faoro, Natalie Mirzai which is led by sports teacher and personal friend of Catherine’s, Miss Barbara Hampson, will submit monthly stories to the Catherine Freeman Foundation web page to give an update on progress.
