I attended my first Cottage by the Sea board meeting in Carlton, Melbourne, in my role as patron.

I always experience joy when I catch up with the C.B.T.S. team, and on this occasion it was no different, even if the inner city board room was indeed a contrast to being seaside in Queenscliff.
It was typically quite inspiring listening to the discussions and information sharing that took place, and I took it all in naturally, especially with a view of enhancing the performance of the Catherine Freeman Foundation.

In the meeting, topics such as infrastructure and the economic impact on donors were covered, and overall the mood and tone was upbeat and positive about the future.

I was given the opportunity to say a few words so I expressed by pride and gratitude in being involved with such an inspiring and wonderful team of people so passionate about giving aid and relief to community people in trouble.

I spoke of my appreciation and willingness to forge another partnership initiative of C.B.T.S. and C.F.F. particularly given how successful the previous experience was for all, especially the children and families of Palm Island.

Once again, I’d like to congratulate C.B.T.S. on all of their fantastic work and here’s to another 100 years!
