Oct 17, 05:15 PM

On December 4th 2007, Catherine Freeman and members of the CFF team will visit Palm Island to meet each of the 15 children who have been put forward by their respective head teachers to win one the 15 mountain bikes given by the CFF to the island’s two schools – Bwgcolam and St Michael’s Schools.

The chosen youngsters have all displayed a great improvement in attitudes to attendance, school work, their peers, their teachers over the past two semesters.

“ I am very excited to be going to Palm Island in December to award the mountain bikes to the winning children. The head of both schools, Ray Armit and Lil Myrtle have informed me that these awards have made a big difference to the children and attendance levels are at an all time high. I am really looking forward to spending some time with the community during my stay and visiting lots of friends.”

Visit Community Spirit Projects section for more information on this project.
