Catherine Freeman presents at the Women of MCC luncheon

October 19 2008 – Catherine Freeman was the guest speaker at a luncheon hosted by the Women of MCC on Sunday October 19, in the Long Room, Melbourne Cricket Ground. Catherine spoke about her glittering sporting career and her role as Director of the Catherine Freeman Foundation, which she established in 2007 to create pathways to a brighter future for young indigenous Australians.



The audience were treated to unique insights into Catherine’s life when she was interviewed by Jane Nathan, the Master of Ceremonies. Jane’s thought provoking questions resulted in Catherine telling some wonderful stories. We were taken on a journey looking back at Catherine’s life as a child, her sporting career and her passion for philanthropy now that she has retired.

Carrick Institute of Education was most generous on the day, making a donation of $2000 to the Catherine Freeman Foundation.

The entertainment on arrival was performed by Tracy Harvey and her team, stars of the upcoming musical ‘Call Girls’.

The Women of MCC is a special interest group created in 2006.
Its aim is to build a network of female MCC members who can act as ambassadors, create opportunities to network, build friendships and encourage use of the fabulous facilities by female members.
