CFF attends All Blacks Carnival

Oct 10-11, CFF Founder Catherine Freeman accepted an invitation from Palm Island Mayor Alf Lacey to attend the All Blacks rugby league carnival held in Townsville.

The carnival is a major highlight on the QLD and Australian sporting calendar as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men’s and women’s rugby league teams from all over QLD and the Torres Strait Islands contested their playing abilities.

Palm Island had men and women’s teams that competed gallantly however, congratulations must go to the Mackay Stallions who won the men’s competition and the Townsville Bindal Sharks for winning the women’s competition.

It was a fierce week end of pure rugby league that show cased indigenous sporting ability and community togetherness.
CFF wishes to thank and acknowledge Alf Lacey, the All Blacks Carnival organisers and its participants.
